Description

FUEL SAVER CLUTCH KIT

This clutch kit is engineered for maximum fuel mileage and quiet / low rpm operation.  Low to mid speed rpm is greatly reduced.  It takes minimal throttle to maintain cruising speed compared to stock clutching.  Cab noise is also greatly reduced due to the low rpm nature of this clutch kit.  We saw just over a 26% increase in fuel mileage on our SOHC Ranger 1000 during testing!  Trail riding and crusings characteristics are very mellow mannered and smooth. This clutch kit is amazing for rock crawling, hunting, crusings around, ice fishing, ranch work, trail riding, road riding, plowing snow, running tracks and more!   This clutch kit is NOT a performance clutch kit.   Once the clutches are fully shifted out at max travel the engine rpm will start to rise so you can still achieve top speed if desired.   The clutch weights are made out of high carbon blended steel with our extremely hard black diamond coating so corrosion is non-existent.  Longevity of these weights is second to none!  The weights have replaceable multi layer friction free bushings that last for thousands of miles without maintenance.  The spring is made out of the super high quality spring steel with a powder coated finish.  Everything is designed and produced in the USA!   

Fits the factory clutch.

Can be used on all polaris Ranger 1000 SOHC models.

    Purchased one of Gilomen’s clutch kits in 2020 when I bought my Ranger and recently added larger tires to it, so naturally I upgraded the clutch kit to the new fuel saver. Man! What a difference it made. I should’ve known just by reading their description and from prior satisfaction with their products, but this new kit really made a huge difference with 32s on the ranger.

    I have a European SOHC 1000 Ranger. I have over 200 miles on the Fuel Saver clutch now. My rpm has dropped from 4800 rpm (dealer installed the XP100 spring #7045326 103/200 before it was delivered) to 4100 rpm at 42MPH. Noise has been reduced but not a lot. The front driveshaft makes quite a bit of noise and the engine drone is there but its different. Fuel mileage is very similar as before, I get 17-20 mpg which is mostly in town at 15-40 mph. The clutch engages at a lower rpm and it acts almost like a manual transmission and I do like that. For how our Ranger is used, highway usage only, there was enough of an improvement that I would purchase it again.

    I am extremely pleased with the Gilomen Fuel Saver clutch Kit. Very noticeable reduced RPM and engine noise to achieve the desired leisurely trail riding speed on my 2022 Ranger Crew 1000. Best 200 dollars I could have spent. This clutch kit is perfect for my trail conditions and riding style. No more screaming engine in low or high gears. Not only that the gas gauge no longer drops like a rock on every single trip. Heads up - The web site description and install instructions mention to place a spring spacer washer between the spring and outer plate, there is no washer in the kit. Also offer some sort of suggestion as how to compress the new clutch spring. The new spring is quite a bit longer and stiffer than the OEM spring. Very difficult to compress by hand then start threading the 6 bolts on the plate. I eventually sat on the ground using my left foot to compress the spring plate then thread in the 6 bolts with my right hand with long extension on a cordless drill driver. It was a bit of a challenge but I got it done. Maybe include 2 longer screws just to compress the spring, then remove the longer bolts to re-install the OEM bolts? Just an idea. Overall the fuel saver clutch weight kit has exceeded my expectations.

I do not drive my ranger like a maniac speeding through heavily forested narrow trails at high speed where one wrong move and you wrap your rig around a tree. I prefer a leisurely quiet ride through the forest on my private narrow rocky mountain trails. This clutch kit is perfect for my trail conditions and riding style. No more screaming engine in low or high gears. Not only that the gas gauge no longer drops like a rock on every single trip. Couple of suggestions is to improve the size and quality of the install instruction pictures. The web site description and install instructions mention to place a washer between the spring and outer plate, there is no washer in the kit. Also offer some sort of suggestion as to how to compress the new clutch spring. The new spring is quite a bit longer and stiffer than the OEM spring. Very difficult to compress then start to thread the 6 bolts on the plate. I eventually sat on the ground using my left foot to compress the spring then thread in the 6 bolts with my right hand and cordless driver with long extension. It was a bit of a challenge but I got it done. I am extremely pleased with this Fuel Saver clutch kit.

    We live in a small town that allows use of our utv's on the street so we do a lot of hard road driving. This clutch kit is what Polaris should have put in the machines from the factory. It's so much smoother than stock and pretty well cured the Polaris clunk when taking off I highly recommend this kit .

    Dropped cab noise and in low I drive family on rocky dirt roads from around 8-11 mph.Stock your at 3800-4000 rpm,with this kit that drops to 2900-3200 rpm’s or so.Mellows out the overall ride noticeably.Well worth the Money.

    Superb quality and functionality. At 1000 sohc EU tractor ranger it reduced rpm from 5000 to 4150 at 60 kmh(38mph). Looking forward to see how much affect it will have on fuel consumption.
