This shim is specifically designed to lockout the EBS helix function on the P90X primary clutch that comes factory on the 2018+ Gen 2 new body style Ranger 1000 models. I have discovered the EBS (engine braking system) can be too aggressive for many people and is causing premature belt failure when going down very steep hills so I came up with a solution. By installing this shim you will eliminate the side loading function of the EBS roller. This saves a lot for wear on your belt and lessens the EBS effect so your machine will coast more when decelerating below 10mph. It does not totally disable the EBS but it lessens the effectiveness of it by 65%. It also eliminates EBS belt wear and smoking the belt when decelerating down a steep hill. If you have noticed smoke that smells like burnt rubber when you go down a steep hill or your belt is tremendously worn on the inside edge then this shim is a must for you.
