Description

This shim is specifically designed to lockout the EBS helix function on the P90X primary clutch that comes factory on the 2018+ Gen 2 new body style Ranger 1000 models. I have discovered the EBS (engine braking system) can be too aggressive for many people and is causing premature belt failure when going down very steep hills so I came up with a solution. By installing this shim you will eliminate the side loading function of the EBS roller. This saves a lot for wear on your belt and lessens the EBS effect so your machine will coast more when decelerating below 10mph. It does not totally disable the EBS but it lessens the effectiveness of it by 65%. It also eliminates EBS belt wear and smoking the belt when decelerating down a steep hill. If you have noticed smoke that smells like burnt rubber when you go down a steep hill or your belt is tremendously worn on the inside edge then this shim is a must for you.

    Shim works as advertised! Seemed as if the inner diameter was a hair too small, but with a little force it will go on. It eliminates the scary rear wheels locking when going down hill and still gives a slight amount of engine braking around 5mph . It also solved my issue of the ebs helix becoming stuck and causing severe creeping / belt drag, thanks Gilomens Inovations!

    Worked as advertised, much easier to get in and out gear now, worth the money. Mr Terry even took the time to write on the instructions showing exactly where it went in the clutch making installation much easier.

    Bought my new XP 1000 crew ranger and at 98 miles the one way bearing failed and shifting was nearly impossible. Took it back to the dealer and they replaced the one way bearing And shifting was back to normal But would constantly smell the belt burning So I put the lockout shim in and now my XP 1000 Crew ranger Shifts like a dream and free wheels nice and free With virtually no engine braking and no more burning Belt smell. Thank you Gilomen Innovations for providing that shim!

    EBS lockout is a must for all ranger 18+, the stock setting is hard on belts and is flat scary on slick downhill grades.

    I waited to install this after I got the P90X clutch service bulletin done by the dealer. When I got back home, I noticed this shim/ring would not go over the one-way bearing like it does in the videos. I had to carefully file down the oblong bearing retainer's outside edge. Once this was done, it all went back together nicely. I noticed no change in engine braking when speed is less than 15mph or so but at higher speeds, yes the machine now "coasts" like it should have come from the factory! Makes me wonder if this now performs the same as the new P190X clutch since it does not have the EBS helix.

    Every XP 1000 need that washer , better rolling , mutch easy to shift .
