Ranger 900 ECU Tune Kit Info

Gilomen Innovations has spent countless hours developing and testing our Polaris 900 Ranger and 900 Ranger Crew ECU tunes and clutch kits. We are known worldwide for our Ranger ECU tunes and clutch setups because they flat out perform!  We even have special versions of this tune specifically for the High lifter and Hunter Edition models. Furthermore, we have unlocked all the power limiters in the ECU to achieve MASSIVE horsepower gains throughout the RPM curve. The factory ECU programming only allows 40% of the available power when the throttle pedal is pressed 100%. With our G4 tune, you get 100% of the available power when 100% throttle pedal is applied. There are many areas in the ECU maps that I change to get rid of the EPA friendly boggy lean condition at part throttle cruising. This allows your motor to run cooler, last longer and offers way more response. This tune greatly increases your Rangers' ability to do work, farming tasks, and take you to your hunting location because of the better low speed drivability and way more power on tap for when you get into sticky situations and need power to get you through. Max power is 78-84HP at 7500-7800 RPM after this tune, depending on the year. Top speeds can exceed 70MPH. Custom tuning options are available if you have a special application.

UPDATE: Many Polaris models in 2017 and newer with stock ECU programming suffer from false misfire codes (65590, 65591, 65592) due to drive belt issues, excessive tire spin, constant high speed driving, or for no apparent reason at all. Polaris made these codes way too sensitive & are unable to delete the codes. Our newest version tunes will eliminate the false check engine codes 65590, 65591, 65592!! If you are a Polaris dealership that has unhappy customers because of these false codes, please call us, we can help restore your customers' faith in their Polaris machine!

Clutch tuning is absolutely needed with this tune to let it perform properly. That is why I offer this ECU tune with a clutch kit to allow the engine to run at the RPM where peak hp is after the tune has been applied to the ECU. The stock clutching is designed to run at 6100-6400 RPM, which is way too low for this tune. If you want full potential out of this tune you NEED to re-clutch. The clutch kits we offer are designed around the power profile of the tuned ECU. Our clutching gets rid of the horrible factory clunk / jerk at take off that the 900 ranger is known for. Take off is very smooth yet very responsive. I have had many people comment how smooth the machine drives after our clutching and ECU tune. Drivability at slow speeds is greatly improved! The clutch kits include primary clutch spring and weights, along with detailed install instructions and torque specs. The most popular clutch kit we sell is our Elite Shift kit, which has solid non-adjustable fixed clutch weights. The other kit option is the BlackMax adjustable weight type clutch kit, which allows you to custom tune your RPM profile. No special tools or pullers are needed to install the clutch kit. Most people can install the clutch kit in 30 minutes. Once you get the ECU and clutch kit simply install the clutch kit and plug in the ECU and you are ‚Äãready to go. If you are running larger than 29" tires you will need to purchase the Mudder Secondary Spring which will squeeze the drive belt harder, preventing belt slippage. Price includes shipping to you. All of our tunes are developed in house on our engine dynamometer with the best strategies known.

I have had several people ask if their heater will work as good in the winter after the 20 degree cooler fan temps, and the answer is absolutely YES. I have tested this during the harsh winter in Minnesota on my personal machine and found the heat works exactly the same. The reason for this is the engine has a 180 degree thermostat and during the winter the cooling fan rarely comes on with or without a tuned ECU but the thermostat is always maintaining proper engine temp to keep the heater core hot.

Write your name on your ECU or a slip of paper to send along with your ECU. You ship your ECU to us with any carrier you wish. Once we receive your ECU in our shop, we will reflash your ECU & send it back to you within one-business day! If you are flash tuning your machine yourself using the EZ LYNK AUTO AGENT 2 device, you will need to Lynk your vehicle to Gilomen Innovations through the EZ Lynk Auto Agent app on your android or apple phone. Lynk your vehicle to our technician account terry@gilomeninnovations.com

Once you Lynk your vehicle to Gilomen Innovations, we will configure your new tune and send it through the cloud to your app on your phone so you can flash tune your machine if you already purchased the tune through our website. No tune credits or other fees are involved when using this device.  If you are renting an EZ LYNK device from Gilomen you have 30 days to return the device for a $480 refund.  If you purchase the device to keep, then the device is not returnable after it has been used to flash the machine.  The EZ lynk device can be used on unlimited machines, with a Gilomen-provided tune for each individual machine. 

If you need assistance with using the device or application, you will need to contact EZ LYNK support https://www.ezlynk.com/support/   

Gilomen does not offer support regarding the EZ LYNK device or application.  We simply provide this device as another avenue to tune your machine.

If you are flash tuning your machine yourself using a dyno jet device, you will need to email us the STK file and the PV-INFO file so we can configure a tune for your machine and email it to you.  Email your STK and PV-INFO file to terry@gilomeninnovations.com

If you are flash tuning your machine yourself using the HP Tuners device you will need to email us the vehicle vin #, the stock file that you read out of the machine, and your HP Tuners serial number / interface ID # which is on the back of your device.  It is your responsibility to have the knowledge to use the HP tuners device to flash your machine.  You are responsible to obtain the proper credits to license your vehicle vin # on your device. You need to purchase a tune on our website first.     Gilomen staff is stellar! They answered every question I had, made some recommendations, and shipped very fast. I installed the upgrades the next day. I use my Ranger for plowing and trail riding. This thing is a monster waiting to be released now! I'm very impressed with the smoothness of the shifting and the power it has compared to stock. What I noticed most was how easy it can keep speed with little effort on the throttle. If you are on the fence at all about this just do it. Such a difference! Thanks Terry and the whole crew!

    The new ecu and clutch weights/spring works great! The nasty surging in reverse is gone and the clunky delay on staring after shifting gears is gone! Best I can say the wife is happy. Did I mention it runs a whole lot better (faster). Would recommend to a friend.

    I mostly bought this to get rid of the belt jerk that comes with a ranger. not only did this eliminate the belt jerk, but it made the machine smoother and faster overall. I highly recommend this to anyone with a ranger.

    I’m still in shock on how much of a difference this made! No more jerking when starting off in any gear and it immediately starts moving under very light acceleration. It drives smoothly and does not seem like it’s under a bind anymore just to cruise around. I love the speed and power out of the tuning and the fans turning on at a lower temperature! I will definitely do this again in the future if I get another ranger and definitely won’t wait so long to do it, to me it’s a must! I’ve already recommended it to friends to get it done as soon as possible!
