Crankshaft hp is increased from the stock 115hp up to 137hp! The combination of the ECU and TCM tuning increases the wheel hp by 20hp at 30mph, and a 26hp gain at 55mph+!
Top speed is increased by an amazing 20mph! The stock speed limiter is 63-64mph. After this tune, we are seeing top speeds of 83-84 mph on our Ranger XD 1500 Northstar Crew Ultimate with stock tires!

The ECU and TCM both need to be tuned for proper operation. Tuning just the ECU is not an option on this model because the ECU and TCM talk to each other at all times and need to be in sync.
The performance switch on the dash remains fully functional. The great thing about the electronically controlled CVT transmission on this model is the fact that we can program the TCM to up shift at different RPMs depending on which mode you have the performance dash switch in.
- Tow/Haul mode offers strong pulling power and ease of control for towing.
- Comfort mode offers low rpm, mellow mannered cruising operation for a smooth quiet ride
- Standard mode is mild but decent performing for general all-purpose driving
- Sport mode is designed for maximum performance at all speeds
This tune does not cause any codes / check engine lights. It allows 100% power at all speeds. The seat-belt limiter is disabled. It performs great on 87 octane gas and even better on 91 octane gas. All engine protections are left in place. Fuel and timing maps are revised for peak performance on pump gas while keeping your piston crown temps and valves cooler than stock. Additional protection is offered by lowering the cooling fan temp from 205 degrees down to 190 to keep your engine running cooler and lasting longer. Once you receive the ECU and TCM, just plug them in, and you are ‚ready to go. Price includes shipping to you.

I have had several people ask if their heater will work as good in the winter after the 20 degree cooler fan temps, and the answer is absolutely yes. I have tested this during the harsh winter in Minnesota on my personal machine and found the heat works exactly the same. The reason for this is that the engine has a 180 degree thermostat and during the winter the cooling fan rarely comes on with or without a tuned ECU, but the thermostat is always maintaining proper engine temp to keep the heater core hot.
We offer 5 different ways to tune your machine.
- Purchase a brand-new ECU and TCM from us. You keep your originals
- Purchase a core ECU and TCM (availability is limited) CORE EXCHANGE PROGRAM
- Send your stock ECU and TCM to us for tuning. (2 week turn around time because the ecu needs to be unlocked)
- Send your stock ECU and TCM to be exchanged for a core ECU and TCM
- Tuning with Hp tuners MPVI3 device (ECU needs to be unlocked for this to work)

The Ranger XD 1500 models have a security locked type ECU which cannot be tuned remotely using the ez lynk device, Dynojet device, or Gilomen I flash device at this time. They can be tuned using the HP tuners MPVI 3 interface with the proper adaptor cable. The ECU unlock service is needed in order to install a tune with the HP tuners MPVI 3 interface.
