After 8 months of decoding and testing, we have developed an absolutely amazing tune for the Ranger 1500 models. 

Features:

  • Huge power gains.  Brings it from the stock 115hp up to 137hp!

  • Seat-belt limiter disabled
  • RPM limiter raised to a safe 7900 RPM. (This is only the engine protection rpm limiter) Operating RPM is much lower than this. 
  • Speed limiters eliminated
  • False misfire codes eliminated
  • Engine protections left in place
  • A/C function left in place for Northstar models
  • Retains Turf mode
  • Heater function works 100% if equipped

Crankshaft hp is increased from the stock 115hp up to 137hp!  The combination of the ECU and TCM tuning increases the wheel hp by 20hp at 30mph, and a 26hp gain at 55mph+! 

Top speed is increased by an amazing 20mph!  The stock speed limiter is 63-64mph.  After this tune, we are seeing top speeds of 83-84 mph on our Ranger XD 1500 Northstar Crew Ultimate with stock tires!

This tune turns your slow doggy Ranger in to a powerful, fun, fast machine! 

The ECU and TCM both need to be tuned for proper operation.  Tuning just the ECU is not an option on this model because the ECU and TCM talk to each other at all times and need to be in sync. 

The performance switch on the dash remains fully functional. The great thing about the electronically controlled CVT transmission on this model is the fact that we can program the TCM to up shift at different RPMs depending on which mode you have the performance dash switch in. 

  • Tow/Haul mode offers strong pulling power and ease of control for towing.
  • Comfort mode offers low rpm, mellow mannered cruising operation for a smooth quiet ride
  • Standard mode is mild but decent performing for general all-purpose driving
  • Sport mode is designed for maximum performance at all speeds 

 

This tune does not cause any codes / check engine lights. It allows 100% power at all speeds. The seat-belt limiter is disabled.  It performs great on 87 octane gas and even better on 91 octane gas. All engine protections are left in place. Fuel and timing maps are revised for peak performance on pump gas while keeping your piston crown temps and valves cooler than stock. Additional protection is offered by lowering the cooling fan temp from 205 degrees down to 190 to keep your engine running cooler and lasting longer.  Once you receive the ECU and TCM, just plug them in, and you are ‚ready to go. I have had several people ask if their heater will work as good in the winter after the 20 degree cooler fan temps, and the answer is absolutely yes. I have tested this during the harsh winter in Minnesota on my personal machine and found the heat works exactly the same. The reason for this is that the engine has a 180 degree thermostat and during the winter the cooling fan rarely comes on with or without a tuned ECU, but the thermostat is always maintaining proper engine temp to keep the heater core hot.

We offer 5 different ways to tune your machine.

  • Purchase a brand-new ECU and TCM from us.  You keep your originals
  • Purchase a core ECU and TCM (availability is limited) CORE EXCHANGE PROGRAM
  • Send your stock ECU and TCM to us for tuning. (2 week turn around time because the ecu needs to be unlocked)
  • Send your stock ECU and TCM to be exchanged for a core ECU and TCM
  • Tuning with Hp tuners MPVI3 device (ECU needs to be unlocked for this to work)


TUNE PROCEDURE WHEN SENDING US YOUR STOCK ECU and TCM:

The Ranger XD 1500 models have a security locked type ECU which cannot be tuned remotely using the ez lynk device, Dynojet device, or Gilomen I flash device at this time.  They can be tuned using the HP tuners MPVI 3 interface with the proper adaptor cable. The ECU unlock service is needed in order to install a tune with the HP tuners MPVI 3 interface.

    Gilomen Innovations is a top tie Comoany. The turn around was literally 2 hours for the reprogram of my ECU/TCM. I heard if. Thanks Gilomen! Once I got them back the next day, I put them back on and HOLY S&$@! It really woke it up. The 22 horse gain is worth every penny. Then it now goes 80+ MPH. I just wish my ThumoerFab order would come in as quick. Nope! Another 8 weeks until the long travel plus everything else will be in. Gilman is one 1st class company with great, actually caring employees.

    Fast turnaround time! Can’t believe how much better my Ranger 1500 runs! No more stalling out going up steep hills or trying to climb up on or over rocks. Nice consistent power in the bottom end! Recommend a must do for any Ranger 1500

    Well worth the money. Turn around was considerably faster than expected. Gilomen is one of the best companies to work with for Polaris upgrades. I will be doing my other 1500XD this week.

    Tune on Ranger 1500XD

    After a very successful result Gilomen tuning and clutching my Ranger XP 1000, I decided to do the Gilomen tune on my 24 1500 XD. Very easy process. Ordered online, overnighted my TCM and ECU, and Gilomen returned them to me overnight for a very fair overnight fee. The tune REALLY helped my 1500. I think it runs smoother. it definitely goes faster. Stock top speed in normal mode was 64 and now top speed in normal mode is 78 with 32 inch Tusk Terrabite tires. Gilomen is easy to get on the phone and do a great job with Technical Assistance. The only issue I have had with the tune is that the new tune now gives me an incorrect speed on my speedo. My speedo on my machine reads 85 as the top speed but registers only 78 on my GPS and phone GPS. Not sure how to address this. Also, I am told that Polaris has some sort of update to the TCM that is suppose to make the transmission work better and I am not sure if the Gilomen Tune will affect that update from Polaris. Other than those two issues, nothing but sunshine and roses in my experience with Gilomen.
